[ He pauses in setting things up while that particular thought actually strikes him. ] Oh. Shit, you're right. I might be twenty-two. Hunh. [ He seriously didn't even think about that until now - but, yep, he's been here a little over a year. Geez... ] Though, yeah, without actually growin' up, I guess it doesn't matter too much. Except for the excuse to party with friends, maybe.
You are kind of a party guy, huh Eithan? [There, just like how Stefan used to prepare it. Sorey doles out the tea, nudging the honey toward Eithan first in case he wants it.] Maybe once there's been some time, we should have our own party. A fleet one, by us and for us. I bet it'd cheer some people up.
[ Oh hey, honey! He nods his thanks and helps himself to a tiny bit, and when Sorey suggests having a party, he can't help but smile. ]
Hey, that's a great idea! Not like we don't have the space for it, you know? We've got plenty of places to work with! And we could easily get help with food, music... Heh, yeah, I think we should do it.
[whoa hang on there with the 'we'] I'm not that practiced at planning parties...but I can definitely find stuff and ask around for things. I can do all the legwork, if you want.
[ He just!! Got super excited and wanted to be inclusive, is all. ]
Heh, between parties I'd throw with my own friends, and all the times I helped my family with all of their parties and soirees and fancier things? I've planned a lot of parties. I could probably ask around and put it all together easy enough. Definitely no reason to make you. 'Sides, you've got a lot to do with this place, right? So don't worry about it.
Okay. [Well, so long as Eithan doesn't think he just wants to propose the idea and then drop it into someone else's lap. HE'S ALL FOR PULLING HIS OWN WEIGHT.] Well...I mean, what's involved? Food. I guess food's involved, naturally.
Food, yeah. Makin' sure there's enough space, though I doubt that's gonna be a problem. There's plenty of space on the Iskaulit, just gotta pick a room and make it, I dunno, not dusty? [ shrug! ] Entertainment, like music or games or whatever we think might be fun. And drinks, probably. Think we could get either of the bars on board? Not, like, for free. I wouldn't expect that of 'em. But yeah.
Oooh yeah, if we get people to help we should definitely pay them! I think that would make people happy too, since it'd be like, um. [what did Rose always call it] Supporting the local economy! Yeah, that.
[ Somewhere, Rose is very proud of you, Sorey! Eithan nods, totally on board with this. ]
Exactly! 'Sides, it'll be pretty hard work keepin' the drinks and snacks flowin' for a ton of people, right? So it's really only fair!
[ He thinks for a second... ] So like, would we say there's a reason for the party? Somethin' specific we're celebratin'? Or just... party for the hell of it?
Ah, yeah, that'd be bad. [ The last thing they want is to make anyone feel pressured, right? ]
Somethin' everyone enjoys... Man, that's hard, we've got all kinds of people, you know? [ Pause. ] Unless we wanna do somethin' with that? Like, just all of us here, together? We're from all over everywhere, but while we're here, we're makin' it work, yeah?
[ He laughs, too. ] Hey, makes it easy! Callin' it like it is, you know?
[ He shakes his head, but he's still grinning. ]
I mean, we could just come up with a random nonsense word for it. Or name it after someone or somethin'. And then say it's just... for everyone. Unless we really want people callin' it the "Makin' it Work" festival, which, you know, would at least get 'em to laugh a little bit.
[ Oh, hey, yeah, that's a good point... Eithan's expression softens at the fond memory, and then his brow furrows as he thinks, too. And sips at his tea. How would Stefan do it... ]
I kinda feel like he'd tell 'em they can call it whatever they want, so long as they show up and have a good time with their friends, and meet new people and stuff. I don't think he really cared about puttin' a name to it that much, he just wanted to see everyone havin' a good time. Learnin' from each other.
Mmm. Maybe. [Sorey used to know a lot of people, anyway...the Fleet's lost a lot of good folks in the past few months.
But there's no need to sour this any further than it's already been.] We could put up fliers and stuff. Make network announcements, obviously. Ooh, a lot of people use the bars right? Maybe we could put posters up there!

Maybe something having to do with the Fleet itself?

[
actually yes it does and it's this month so prooobably gonna miss that one, try again]Or maybe we could just call it a joint birthday celebration for people who aren't sure when their birthday might've been? That might be a fun excuse!

Maybe we can make up something? Like a, um, like a kind of festival? Is there something that everybody in the Fleet does, or enjoys?

Lot of people know you, too. And besides, word'll spread! Especially if we tell everyone to get the word out about it, too.
